Early Childhood Education

Historically, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children begin their primary school education behind, with a clear gap in their literacy and numeracy skills.

The early childhood education program we support operates three days a week. The aim of the program is to improve literacy and numeracy skills through structured play.

Over 30 Indigenous children receive free access to this program, providing a safe and fun environment to assist them in successfully transitioning into the public school system.

Muru has been supporting the program since FY16. We are committed to providing support while we continue to see significant outcomes for the local Indigenous community.
